Here's a
laundry list of things you never knew - or never thought you'd find out -
about me, in no particular order. Contrary to what some of you have told
me, the information below is entirely accurate.
- Born : October 24th, 1970. I'm a
"passionate" Scorpio. Supposedly.
Nationality : South Korean.
My opinionated opinions on my country here.
- Height : 178 cm.
That's about 5 foot 10 inches.
Weight : 67 kg.
I used to be skinny as a rail but all those late night ramyon did the job.
Eyesight : Pretty bad.
I've been wearing glasses since 6, I think. But apparently not so bad because it did zilch for me in terms of military duties( I did the full 28 month variety).
IQ : I never took an IQ test.
Thank goodness.
- Academic Background : Seoul University Class of 96 (entered 89), bachelor of arts in business administration.
- Address : Somewhere in the venerable district of
Youido. I have been living on this quasi-island for 19 years and counting.
- Marital Status : Single. And
proud of it.
- Overseas Experience : I lived for 4 years each in Tokyo (1975~77, 1981~82) and London (1982~86).
I was fortunate enough to pick up Japanese and English due to this. Oh,
there's the other few overseas trips now and again as well.
Occupation : Associate Consultant at
Bain & Company Korea, located on the 19th floor of the "holy cow, lookaddat gaping hole in the building" Chongro Tower in the heart of Seoul.
Bain is a strategic management consulting firm (and quite a successful one at that, thank you).
I have been working here since late 1998. If you wanna know what it's like to work for a consulting firm, click

- People ask me, "what makes you
tick?" I tell'em, "what do you care?"
- Then I tell'm the following partial list
of what turns me on, in descending order.
Those of you who know me can probably figure out what's been omitted.
Watching movies.
I'm an unapologetic movie buff. Here are my top ten movies of all time.
Playing with the computer.
I love PCs and I own a bona fide mania's collection of PC software gadgets (list of my PC paraphernalia here).
I do a wee bit of programming: the Visual Basic kind, but I am far from where
I wanna be. I think Excel combined with VBA VBA is the most amazing
analytical tool you could ever think of. Truly exciting stuff.
Playing guitar.
Classical, electric, and acoustic (in descending order) I've been playing since 14.
Reading.
My favourite authors are Frederick Forsyth, John Grisham, and Sherlock Holmes.
Whoops. Sherlock isn't an author, but who cares? You can obviously tell that I won't be joining the literary critics club in this life time.
Music.
Rock'n'roll rules, baby. I like listening to 80's
music--some esoteric British bands you probably don't know.
Call me a square, but I can't stand dance and rap.
Playing basketball.
It's been ages since I last touched the orange ball but swooshing is still a major thing for me.
I'm an unfortunate fan of Boston Celtics who are just horrendously crappy these days.
But I'm sure they will rise from the ashes and become a force to be reckoned with again, although not too soon.
The colour scheme of this site is a tribute to Celtic
Pride.
- Brain orientation : Apparently, I'm
a left-brain guy. Come to think of it, I hardly use the left side of my
body.
- Credo : Rock till you drop.
Illegitimi non carborandum est.
Best friends :
Kyungtae, Soomin, Jeongjun, and Suktae (sorted by age). Alternatively known as El Loco,
SMD, JJ/Gecko and Bear respectively. Our exclusive Freechal site here.
